100% Sciaccarellu. Hand-harvested at 40hl/ha from the slopes of the sandy south/south-east slopes at 400-480m altitude. The grapes were destemmed to 100% and pressed with a pneumatic press after light skin contact. Fermentation took place in steel tank chilled with indigenous yeasts while the lees were stirred weekly. No fining and only light filtration before bottling.
Bright pink, mother-of-pearl with delicate violet reflections. Fresh bright nose of rhubarb, raspberry and strawberry. The charming fruit is accompanied by rosemary, thyme and pepper. On the palate, the Clos Venturi Rosé surprises with freshness, lots of citrus, herbal notes and distinctive minerality. A complex rosé wine that not only whets the appetite, but is also simply perfect for balmy summer days.
The vines of Clos Venturi are rooted in Sandstone, basalt, granite and blue slate. Together with the continental climate of the Central Corsica and the influence of the Mediterranean, the soils bring freshness, minerality and maturity to the wines in equal measure. The stony environment, however, contributes above all purity and barrenness in the wines.
The founder Jean Vico has cultivated the vineyards on the French Mediterranean island only with autochthonous grape varieties. Vermentinu, Sciaccarellu, Niellucciu, Carcaghjolu Neru, Aleatico and Minustellu bring even experienced wine connoisseurs to the limits of their knowledge. As a tribute to Jean Vico, wines are still named after him today.
