100% Chardonnay. Vineyard Area: 1.50 hectares. Soil: Clay-limestone. Age of vine: 50 years.
Emblematic cuvée of Chassagne white produced from a dozen plots located on the bottom of the hill with a large exposure from the North-East to the South-West : a balance of a very superior aromatic quality. Pretty and expressive, this Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes bursts with aromas of white flowers, pear and almonds. Medium-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's vibrant and open-knit, concluding with a delicately oak-inflected finish.
Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils story is dating back to 1920, anchored in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet over 5 generations. The founders, Flavie and Arsène, initiated a wine vocation which was transmitted to their son Pierre, married to Simone, then to their grandson Guy Amiot. Today, it's the turn of the 2 brothers, Thierry, the winemaker, and Fabrice, the promoter, to carry this tradition. Héloise, Thierry's daughter, also has two feet in the vineyards to write the sequel.
Since 2015, our 2 special cuvées, Bourgogne Chardonnay « Cuvée Flavie » and Bourgogne Pinot Noir « Cuvée Simone », pay an eternal tribute to the 2 women in the family who played a key role in the life of the Amiot Estate : Flavie (1887-1969) founded the domain (purchase of vines, houses, education of children). Simone (1922-2009) dedicated her life to working in vines, cellar and kitchen to welcome customers and friends of wine.
From Montrachet Grand cru, renowned as « the best white wine in the world », to the appellations Village de la Côte de Beaune and chalonnaise, Guy Amiot offers an exceptional wine map which gives you great surprises.
