Blend of Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard. Distilled only once in a traditional Armagnac pot. Aged in Limousin oak barrels, during which time evaporation concentrates the alcohol. Gradually cut with water, or petites eaux, a weak mixture of water and Armagnac, to bring its final alcohol level down to 40%.
Deep mahogany with amber glints. Empyreumatic nose, toasted, woody (eucalyptus) and fine rancio notes. Smooth and full of character. Mature from natural oxydation. Proudly bears its origins in Bas Armagnac, the jewel of the appellation Armagnac.
Armagnac Baron Gaston Legrand was purchased by Cognac Guy Lheraud in 1998.
