Slightly golden yellow, with reflections that go towards green. On the nose, it reveals a bouquet of floral scents. On the palate, a very pleasant freshness emerges with notes of citrus to finish on a much richer note that reveals toast and brioche.
Tenuta la Novella, perched at 500 meters in altitude, is located in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Sienne, in the Chianti Classico appellation.
Tenuta la Novella is a winery with a history dating back to the 19th century. The estate has had several lives, in different eras. From a watchtower to control the entrance to Florence through the Ema Valley, to a convent of nuns, to a farm and agricultural estate under Napoleon Bonaparte. Today the estate produces mainly wine and olive oil.
In 1820, after the acquisition of the land by the Zini family and after several years of work to transform the monastery, the property became a large agricultural estate with 17 farms. In 1827 it changed its name to "la Novella", which means "the New", "the Transformed".
Thanks to their passion for the estate, the Schneider Family has allowed a constant evolution at the estate for 25 years. Since 2015, the association with Simone Zemella, technical director and winemaker has moved the estate towards biodynamic agriculture. He is committed to creating wines that reflect the terroirs from which the grapes come.
For Tenuta la Novella, being natural is a top priority. To attain the very highest quality, Tenuta la Novella produces its olive oils, Chianti Classico and Vin Santo according to organic agriculture’s strict norms. No pesticides, no chemical fertilizers. Nature alone allows us to harvest exceptional products, combining fine flavours with well-being for the body and soul.
