    70% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Verdejo.

7,5 months in French oak barrels (fermentation and resting). Production for the 2019 vintage was limited to just 110 barrels.

A wonderful accident, following the unexpected appearance of white grapevines in a vineyard that should have been red, led to more than 20 years of research. The fruit of this labour was our first white wine, which will be 10 years old in 2020.

A terroir wine for aging, it is largely obtained from Sauvignon Blanc, to which we add a hint of Verdejo and a bit of alchemy with other white grape varieties, depending on the characteristics of the vintage.

The result is a surprising, original wine with intensity and character, full-bodied and unctuous with a long, fresh finish. Designed to improve over time, it is a true reflection of the personality of our terroir.

Pale, clean and bright. It immediately reveals its broad aromatic range, starting with a very fresh, mineral and citric nose of grapefruit and mandarin, almost tropical, before giving way to a soft perfume of acacia ower, rose petal, ginger and white fruit (Williams pear). Its finish shows the ripeness of the vintage.

The Abadia Retuerta is a Spanish winery founded in 1996. The estate is situated just outside the border of the Ribera del Duero region in Spain's north central province of Castilla y León, near the village of Sardón del Duero. 20 miles east of the city of Valladolid, it lies in wine estates stretching from Tudela de Duero to Peñafiel known as “the golden mile”. Notably, it is just a few miles from Vega Sicilia, producer of Unico.

The climate is extreme continental and semi-desert, with hot summers, cold winters and average annual rainfall of 300 mm to 450 mm. The 54 vineyard plots take up 206 hectares: 146 of which is planted with Tempranillo, 40 Ha with Cabernet Sauvignon, 16 Ha with Merlot, 2 Ha with Syrah and 2 Ha with Petit Verdot.

The wine making facilities were designed by consulting oenologist Pascal Delbeck, proprietor of Château Ausone, who still works with the estate along with Angel Anocíbar.
