100% Tempranillo. 14 months in Allier French oak barrels. The unique conditions of the Legardeta Estate in Navarra allow the Tempranillo grape to complete its cycle and ripen perfectly. Indeed it is in border areas like this where the greatest wines are produced.
The Chivite Colección 125 range was launched in 1985 to commemorate the anniversary of the first exports in 1860. Chivite Colección 125 wines reflect the unique qualities of the soil from which they emerge and of each individual vintage. The production is limited and both the vines themselves and the grapes are handled meticulously.
It is a generously oaked example of the Tempranillo grape in a ripe vintage, which also provides some jammy notes of ripe plums intermixed with Mediterranean herbs and some spices. The palate is very lively, with marked acidity and focused, clean flavors, combining power and elegance, ripeness and freshness. This is a pleasant surprise. Only 6,000 bottles produced.
