Château La Lagune 85 hectares vineyard is planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot on a terroir of gravel and sand soils. In 2004, the estate began experimenting with organic farming and is certified by Biodyvin since 2016. The wine is fermented in a total of 72 different, temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats to allow for a parcel by parcel vinification. The wine is blended before the aging process. The wine is aged in 50% new French, oak barrels for 18 months before bottling. On average, Chateau La Lagune produces between 18,000 and 20,000 cases of Bordeaux wine.
"Château La Lagune produces a refined, feminine style of wine that offers aromatic complexity and elegant textures. This 1855 classified Third Growth wine could easily be confused with a Margaux in blind tastings. It might be the tobacco, licorice, wet earth, flowers and ripe red fruits that you notice first. But it is the elegant textures, sweet, pure, refined fruits and the silky tannins that will stick with you the longest."
