TASTING
Pale gold color, a limpid and brilliant white wine. Intense body, citrusy with an impressive minerality typical of the appellation, persistent and complex finish with aromas of white flowers.
The house’s eponymous founder, Evgueni Louis Max, hailed from Georgia, which many believe is the birthplace of winemaking. He inherited his passion from his father, a wine merchant who had been a soldier in Tsar Alexander I’s army.
In 1859, the young exile established his Maison in Beaune, the heart of Burgundy. Today, its domain spans Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, and Chablis.
After 160 years, Louis Père & Fils continues to blend innovation and tradition to produce extraordinary wines from 3 of the world’s most illustrious terroirs. A sustainable cultivation of the vines, a control of the yields, a manual harvest, a harvest and a sorting of the grapes at full maturity.
For white wines, gentle pressing to extract the best juice from each plot, followed by aging in vats or barrels. For the reds, maceration in whole bunches and in vats. Then a traditional vinification and aging in barrels.
Everything is done to extract the delicacy and subtlety of Chardonnay, the finesse and elegance of Pinot Noir. This authentic know-how is the result of a unique experience matured over 6 Generations.
