The Absis is predominantly Tempranillo with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah completing the blend. It was aged for 18 months in new French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up a bouquet of raisins, plum, and mulberry with a hint of smoke and balsamic in the background. On the palate the wine has a good structure with round tannins that will blossom after a few years of cellaring.
Parés Baltà is a family owned winery in Penedes, Catalunya, whose origins go back to 1790. They practice organic farming since 1790 and biodynamic farming since 2012. The winery is managed by Joan and Josep Cusiné, with their wives and winemakers Maria Elena and Marta. Their efforts are reflected in the quality of their wines, showing fine character and concentration.
