Gorgeous red colour. The nose is expressive, fresh and crisp with aromas of cherry and redcurrant followed by notes of blueberry pie and marzipan. Remarkably fresh, round start to the palate with good balance. Lovely structure that boasts good length and very well-integrated subtle nuances of oak and spices from the barrel ageing. This magnificent example of the typicity of Pinot Noir boasts great complexity and freshness.
More than 80% of the grapes for this cuvée come from the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, handpicked and aged in oak barrels (50%). The remaining wines come from the Couchois area (northwestern Côte Chalonnaise), sought after for their freshness. The final blend also incorporates some Pinot Noir from the Beaujolais as a complement for the colour and fruit it gives, vinified in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and fruitiness.
