80% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignons. Organic Farming. Manual Harvest. Ageing 18 months in barrels of 500 litres and in stoneware jars, then about 3 months in stainless steel. Maturing in bottle for 12 months before release.
The colour is deep ruby red. The nose offers notes of ripe cherries, strawberry jam and grilled spices. The palate is supple and soft, the dense tannic structure is supported by a good freshness.
Tenuta La Novella is a winery whose structure dates back to the 1800s. This estate has had several lives, in different eras. From a watchtower to control the entrance to Florence through the Ema Valley, to a convent of nuns, to a farm and agricultural estate under Napoleon Bonaparte.
