100% Pinot Noir from vines between 21 to 40 years-old and coming from limestone soils (Chavignol caillottes). The harvest is entirely destemmed and sorted by hand. Maceration lasts about 25 days. Malolactic fermentation is natural and carried out in 228-litres barrels for 50% and in wooden vats for the other half. Aging lasts 8 to 12 months.
In this light bodied red wine, generous black-cherry fruits are balanced by juicy acidity and soft tannins. This perfumed wine is open, packed with fruit and a peppery edge. Subtle and elegant, this red wine will accompany perfectly dishes with delicate flavors.
Located in the heart of the Sancerre appellation in the village of Chavignol, Domaine Vincent Delaporte has been passed from father to son since the 17th century. It is now in the hands of 30-year-old rising star Mathieu Delaporte, who has introduced more organic farming practices and constantly improved the quality of the wines. The production wines are exclusively harvested from the 33 hectares of the property, which are planted with 75% Sauvignon Blanc, and for the rest of Pinot Noir. He is now recognized as one of the finest red winemakers in Sancerre.
